The Leonard's Academy of Dance is one of the locations that TampaBay Afrofit has classes regularly.  You will find us on location every Saturday from 10:30AM to 11:30AM.  I challenged attendees to wear their FitBit and record the amount of calories burnt.  I, conservatively, inform everyone that they will burn between 300 and 900 calories (depending on the intensity).  Well, the record was set at 1300 calories one Saturday, when an attendee decided to try the hour with 10lbs weights  to her ankles.
Our goal is to encourage movement.  To promote preventative approach to health care by controlling and managing certain conditions! Might as well have fun doing it!

TampaBay Afrofit Personal Training:
TampaBay Afrofit personal training sessions are designed to maximize each client's potential and be that one on one approach that allows fitting each individual's lifestyle and time restrictions. From the creation of customized plans for the gym to in-home workout sessions, we can accommodate your needs.

TampaBay Afrofit Cardio Classes:
TampaBay Afrofit cardio session is a fitness program that combines music from various countries of Africa and the Caribbean with dance moves. Afrofit routines incorporate interval training, alternating fast and slow rhythms, and resistance training.  During the Cardio Tone sessions, the addition of light weights and high repetition is included in the routines.
As aerobic activity, TampaBay Afrofit session can count toward the 150 minutes a week of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes a week of vigorous aerobic activity recommended for most healthy adults by the Department of Health and Human Services.
Aerobic exercise reduces health risks, keeps excess pounds at bay, strengthens your heart and boosts your mood. If you enjoy exploring different cultures through music and dance, you're also more likely to do it regularly — and experience its benefits as an aerobic exercise.
